Soulyft Audio release Chime

Following on from last year’s release of Gradient Synth — which reached #6 on the App Store’s Paid Music charts —  Soulyft Audio have announced the launch of their latest creation.

Named Chime, the new addition to the company’s line-up is a gesture-based soft synth that turns noise into soundscapes using a combination of touch control, filters, delay and reverb. It employs an audio engine that has been developed in collaboration with Sketch Audio, and its GUI has been designed to encourage immediate musical exploration. It offers a minimalist, icon-based layout that features no explicit labels, and aims to invite users to trust their ears while sculpting soundscapes through interactive gestures.

“With Chime, the goal was to design an App where making music felt playful and exploratory, but still capable of serious, inspiring results. Partnering with Sketch Audio was key to creating Chime’s powerful yet intuitive audio engine. It’s a blend of approachable design and deep sonic potential.” - Corey Lofthus, Founder, Soulyft Audio

Noise-based Synthesis: Unique approach to creating playable textures from raw audio noise. Gesture-Driven Interface: Users interact and shape sound intuitively. AUv3 & Standalone: Compatible with any iOS DAW or AUv3 host, while the iPad version lets you run three side-by-side voices for instant layering and splits. MIDI Compatibility: Effortless connection with external hardware. Professional Audio Engine: Developed collaboratively with Sketch Audio.

Compatibility

Chime is supported on iPhone and iPads running iOS/iPadOS 17.5 or later. It’s available as a standalone App and an AUv3 plug-in.
