COIL: Mutated Scoring Guitars by The Very Loud Indeed Co.

The latest addition to The Very Loud Indeed Co.’s ever-growing collection of Kontakt instruments has just been released. COIL: Mutated Scoring Guitars comprises 858 audio files, and as they're all provided as 24 bit/48 kHz WAVs, they can also be used in other samplers or directly in a DAW.

Developed by Richie Nieto, a veteran video game sound designer and founder of The Very Loud Indeed Co.’s, COIL has been built using recordings of electric and acoustic guitars. Rather than simply emulating the instruments, though, it instead provides a ‘playground’ that allows users to craft them into unique and inspiring new tones and textures. The core recordings include short plucked notes, as well as loops that have been created using an EBow and extensive processing, resulting in a collection of interesting pad-like tones.

“All of the sounds are organised in layers that can be mixed in an almost infinite number of ways, allowing the user to create the exact instruments they need for their compositions,” Richie Nieto, Founder, The Very Loud Indeed Co.

Compatibility

COIL: Mutated Scoring Guitars runs in the full version of Native Instruments’ Kontakt 6.8 or later, which is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or 11, and Macs running macOS 10.14 and above. VST, VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available, along with a standalone version. The library requires 1.6 GB of disk space.
