Synchron Solo Viola from Vienna Symphonic Library

Vienna Symphonic Library have released Synchron Solo Viola, a new solo string virtual instrument captured at the company’s flagship scoring space, Synchron Stage Vienna. This marks the third entry in the Synchron Solo Strings series, following previous releases for violin and cello which we reviewed in SOS Nov 2024 - read it here.

Performed by violist Anna Firsanova, the library was recorded on Stage A of the Synchron Stage Vienna using multiple microphone positions and setups, aiming to deliver a natural, highly expressive sound suited to film scoring, classical composition and contemporary orchestration.

Synchron Solo Viola includes a broad range of articulations, from short notes like spiccato and staccato to expressive legato, portamento, harmonics, tremolos and col legno. Long notes offer various vibrato types, dynamic swells, and performance nuances. Users can select between multiple stage positions (solo, 1st chair, center) and load pre-mixed presets for immediate results.
